This week will help you understand what it is like to live in the UK. It is ideal preparation for students who are planning to go to study in Oxford later. Classes will focus on cultural differences and social conventions, to help students to understand how different people live and think. At different levels, this will include everything from dressing-up and flag-making to debating and role play.
The British are famous across the world for their behaviour and for their manners. Confident as individuals; chivalrous to each other; great as a team. This week will include learning about some famous British characters and characteristics, and then practising some of their skills - to build your self-confidence, leadership skills and teamwork
This week will include looking at some of the most famous English speeches and quotations, learning why they are so powerful, and learning how to use their techniques to manage your presentation and communication skills - and improve your public speaking
The history and traditions of the Kings and Queens of England come alive with our living history lessons. See the way royalty lived and dressed, how the 20th Century changed things forever and what the Royal Family are really like today. Learn how to dress, behave, and talk like a King or Queen!
How do real English people behave? What is acceptable behaviour for living in England? Why do the English say 'Sorry!' when you bump into them? This week will show you how to be a perfect gentleman or lady.
This week uses English popular music, top English films and TV programmes, and will even give you the chance to try your own skills as an actor in English. Learn what the lyrics of your favourite song really mean!
Each weekly theme ends with a test of the language and culture you have learned. Students who successfully complete the course and the end of week test will receive a certificate confirming that they have passed this course.
